Hey friends! Summer is the season for sunshine, cookouts, and gathering everyone you love in one place. If you’re hosting or attending a family get-together this season and wondering how to keep a crowd entertained — I’ve got you covered with some of my family’s favorite easy, low-prep party games!

These games work indoors or outdoors, need little to no equipment, and are perfect for groups of 10 to 25 people. Whether your crew includes toddlers, teens, or great-grandparents, these games bring the giggles. Let the fun begin!

🎉 1. The Blanket Name Game

Great for indoors or a shady spot outside

You’ll need: A large blanket or sheet
Split into two teams. Hold the blanket up like a curtain between the two teams. Each team quietly chooses one person to sit behind the blanket. On the count of three, drop the blanket — first person to say the name of the other wins the round!

📌 Dana’s Tip: Works great with cousins who haven’t seen each other in a while — it’s a memory refresher and a laugh riot.

🤣 2. Human Bingo

Best played as people arrive or during a lull

Create bingo cards with squares like:

  • “Has traveled out of the country”

  • “Is wearing flip-flops”

  • “Can whistle”

Players walk around and get signatures from people who match each square. First to get BINGO wins!

🏃‍♀️ 3. The Fruit Relay

Perfect for a backyard or open room

You’ll need: Plastic spoons and fruit (lemons, grapes, etc.)
Players race from one point to another balancing fruit on their spoon — no hands allowed! Make it sillier with a cone or spin halfway through.

🍋 Dana’s Twist: Let younger kids pick their fruit — grapes for littles, lemons for older kids, maybe even potatoes for adults!

🧠 4. This or That?

Great as a seated game while eating or relaxing

Ask questions like:

  • Beach or mountains?

  • Ice cream or popsicles?

  • Flip-flops or sneakers?

Players walk to one side of the room (or raise hands) depending on their answer. It sparks conversation and a few silly debates!

🎈 5. Group Charades

Indoors, outdoors, anytime!

Write easy prompts on slips of paper and have one person act it out while everyone guesses. You can theme it: summer activities, famous movies, or family memories.

📣 Want to make it extra fun? Have two people act it out together — chaos guaranteed!

🎁 Bonus Game: Prize Walk

If you have a few dollar-store items to give away

Tape numbers to the ground in a circle. Play music and let everyone walk around. When the music stops, draw a number — the person standing on it wins a prize!

🎶 Dana’s Tip: This is a hit with kids and adults when you add silly prizes (like glow sticks or a whoopee cushion!).

Whether you’re in the backyard or gathered in Grandma’s living room, these simple games bring people together. Don’t stress about planning a picture-perfect party — focus on laughter, togetherness, and the occasional lemon rolling off a spoon.

If you try any of these, I’d love to hear how it went! Share your favorites with me over on Facebook or Instagram, and don’t forget to check out the printable section for more summer fun.
