This Mexican Dip has been a staple in my family for years—and for good reason! It’s super simple, always a hit at parties, and you don’t even need to turn on the oven. Whether you’re headed to a family gathering, office celebration, or summer cookout, this no-bake layered dip is the perfect thing to bring. Just grab a bag of tortilla chips and you’re good to go!
Why I Love This Dip
It’s creamy, flavorful, and colorful. The combo of sour cream and taco sauce gives it just the right tang, and the layers of lettuce, tomato, olives, and cheese make it feel fresh and festive. Best of all? It comes together in minutes.
One tip: sprinkle a little shredded cheese on the bottom of your serving dish and just under the lettuce and tomatoes. It helps soak up any moisture and keeps the dip from getting soggy—especially helpful if you’re prepping it ahead of time.
🌮 Mexican Dip Recipe
Ingredients
-
16 oz. sour cream
-
1 small jar taco sauce – We like the Taco Bell brand, Mild, but feel free to use Medium or Hot depending on your crowd
-
16 oz. shredded Mexican cheese (we use the 4-cheese blend, but 2-cheese works fine too)
-
Iceberg lettuce, chopped bite-size
-
1 beefsteak tomato – remove seeds and chop
-
1 small jar black olives
Directions
-
Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese in the bottom of a 9×13-inch or round pie dish.
-
In a bowl, mix the sour cream and taco sauce. Spread this over the bottom cheese layer.
-
Sprinkle another light layer of cheese over the sour cream mixture.
-
Add your layers: chopped lettuce, tomato, and black olives.
-
If you have any cheese left, go ahead and sprinkle it on top!
-
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
-
Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
