Welcome back to Living With Dana’s 52-Week Cleaning, Organizing & Decluttering Challenge! We’re almost halfway through the year, and I’m so proud of how far you’ve come. This week, we’re heading into the garage — one of those spaces that often gets forgotten until it’s filled to the brim with clutter.

Week 23: Garage – Clean Garage Doors & Walls

  • Wipe down the inside and outside of garage doors.
  • Clean any windows or mirrors in the garage.
  • Sweep walls to remove dust and cobwebs.
  • Organize seasonal decorations.

This week’s focus is all about refreshing the garage by cleaning the doors and walls and taking a few smart steps toward better organization — especially for seasonal décor. Whether your garage doubles as a workshop, storage space, or simply houses your vehicles, this deep-clean is going to make a big difference.

Week 23 To-Do List

1. Wipe Down Garage Doors (Inside & Out)

Garage doors take a beating from the elements — especially if they’re facing the street.
Pro Tip: Use a soft-bristle brush and a mild degreasing solution to remove grime and spider webs. I recommend this all-purpose cleaner and this extendable scrub brush (both Amazon affiliate links — thank you for your support!).

3. Sweep the Walls

Yes, you read that right — sweep the walls! Garages accumulate dust, spiderwebs, and even sawdust on the vertical surfaces.
Life Hack: Use a dry mop or an old broom wrapped in a microfiber cloth to reach high corners and tight spaces. This wall and ceiling duster makes it a breeze.

4. Organize Seasonal Decorations

If you store holiday or seasonal décor in the garage, this is the perfect time to sort, label, and store them in bins.
Use clear stackable storage totes with easy-to-read labels to keep everything visible and accessible. Bonus points if you color-code by holiday!
