It had been a while since I’d given the bathroom the deep clean it deserved, and as I stood there on a quiet Sunday morning, I could tell it was time to give it some TLC. The mirror was fogged up from the last shower, the grout was showing signs of wear, and even the medicine cabinet had become a chaotic jumble of half-used lotions and old toothpaste tubes. It was go-time.

Here are this week’s tasks to look over before I continue with my story:

Week 4: Bathrooms – Deep Clean
Clean and disinfect the toilet, sink, and shower/tub.
Wipe down mirrors and light fixtures.
Clean floor tiles and grout.
Empty medicine cabinets and organize contents.
Replace old or empty toiletries.

Let’s continue with my story:

I started with the toilet, sink, and shower—those essential areas that really needed attention. I tackled the toilet first, scrubbing every nook and cranny. It’s never the most glamorous task, but after the disinfecting was done, I stepped back and admired the sparkling result. The sink followed, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much cleaner it looked after just a quick scrub. It wasn’t even that dirty, but something about freshening it up made the entire bathroom feel so much more inviting.

Next up was the shower, which—let’s be honest—had seen better days. I used a heavy-duty cleaner on the tile and grout and scrubbed away the soap scum that had built up. After a good rinse, I could see the white grout again, and the tiles had a new shine. I actually felt a little proud of myself, like I’d uncovered the original potential of the space.

Then it was time for the mirrors and light fixtures. I wiped down the mirror with some glass cleaner, which made a noticeable difference—suddenly, the bathroom looked brighter and bigger. The light fixtures had accumulated dust and fingerprints, so I gave them a good wipe as well. It’s crazy how such small details can change the whole ambiance of a room.

The floor tiles and grout were the next challenge. I’d been putting this off for a while, but with the rest of the room shining, I knew it was time. I used a tile cleaner and got to work on the grout, scrubbing away years of buildup. It took some elbow grease, but the effort was worth it when I saw the floor come back to life.

Finally, I emptied out the medicine cabinet, which was like uncovering a treasure trove of expired vitamins and old shampoo bottles. I tossed what I didn’t need, organized everything that was left, and even replaced a few toiletries that were running low—like that face wash I always forget to buy. With everything neatly arranged, I felt like the bathroom had been completely refreshed.

When I stepped back and looked around, I couldn’t believe the transformation. It was like a brand-new space, but better—cleaner, more organized, and ready for the week ahead. Every little surface gleamed, and I couldn’t wait to use the bathroom the next time I needed to get ready.
