Small pets, like small dogs, cats, or even older or less agile animals, might need stairs to get on the bed or couch because their
little legs often don’t have the reach or strength to jump up. Pets with short legs, like Dachshunds or Chihuahuas, can struggle to make a big leap, especially when it’s a high surface.

Additionally, some pets may have joint issues, arthritis, or other mobility problems as they age, making jumping painful or difficult.

Pets: Cat water fountain and more https://livingwithdana.com/2024/03/pets-cat-water-fountain-and-more/ Fri, 22 Mar 2024 23:51:25 +0000 https://livingwithdana.com/?p=4809 Pets: Cat water fountain and more

We got our rescue Ragdoll cat in October 2023 and he was already six years old. He was friendly right from the start and we were in love. We noticed he was not drinking from the water bowl and so most of his food: dry and canned was mixed with a little water to make sure he was getting SOME water.

Fast forward to three months later and I can say that I’ve seen the cat drinking from the fountain.

Pets: Does your cat drink enough water? https://livingwithdana.com/2024/01/pets-does-your-cat-drink-enough-water/ Sun, 14 Jan 2024 17:09:23 +0000 https://livingwithdana.com/?p=3734 Pets: Does your cat drink enough water?

My Ragdoll cat shows no interest in drinking water. I have resorted to mixing a little bit of water into his canned food and into his dry food at times.

There is a brand of dry cat food that is “basted” and the gravy needs to be released with water. He eats that watered dry food, so that makes me happy.

The vet noted that cats in the wild sometimes go to a drinking hole at night and so they aren’t often seen drinking water.

I always thought it was so cute when a pet owner had a special pet stroller for their small breed dog or even their cat and the pet

would get to go for walks around the block. The pet always seemed to enjoy the time outdoors, and the owner got a bit of exercise.

Of course, when I was much younger, I had a cat named Pepper who I would dress in my doll clothes and put her in my doll stroller to go for a walk around the block.

Cat fur grooming:

Your cat’s fur is thicker in the winter which means he may be getting more fur balls and dull fur. Try this: Take a paper towel and rub it all over his body every day.
